Customised signs for the home, function or friends
Mother and daughter team Lee Hesketh and Dana Bryon will debut their range of custom and personalised handmade timber farmhouse signs at Country Lifestyle this year.
Their business Oak and Olive Boutique specialises in designing the perfect forever piece for the home, office, wedding, engagement or gift giving.
They provide generic size and colour options when shopping on their online store but can also customize the signage to individual requirements, whether it be different sizing and colour options.
All pieces are handmade by Lee and Dana in Wagga Wagga and stocked by Lumella, Coolamon, Fisher and Farmer, Ganmain, and Wagga businesses August & Artisan, Craft Brew and BBQ, and Collective Interiors Furniture and Homewares.
Lee works full time for NRMA Wagga while Dana is a careers advisor for Charles Sturt University.
They bought the business from a close friend of Lee’s in January on the urging of Dana, who wanted a creative side hustle.
“The signs have been very popular for weddings and engagements for a while now and we have ventured into a new area of pet portraits, cute sayings for kitchen, laundry and workplace,” Lee said.
“We can custom make them to whatever size and colour people want.”
The ladies have become familiar figures around the local hardware stores and are now proficient at working with timber and power tools.
“We had to learn all those skills and it has been quite empowering,” Lee said.
Oak and Olive Boutique supports local markets at Riverwren, Oura, Lockhart and Lake Albert.
They are both looking forward to Henty Machinery Field Days as Lee used to sell cooking utensils there.
“At Henty we will have personalised and customised signs for order, along with the big range of generic signs,” Lee said.
