Wodonga TAFE Fashion students participating in Natural Fibre Fashion Awards 2022
Students in the Fashion Design program at Wodonga TAFE are excited to be exhibiting their creations at the 2022 Natural Fibre Fashion Awards at this year’s Henty Machinery Field Days.
Students are hoping to continue the winning streak, with previous Student Award winners being selected from Wodonga TAFE’s student entries over the 5 years prior to the Fashion Awards and Field Days being in hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Fashion Design Teacher at Wodonga TAFE, Ms Deidre Brown, said the standard at The Natural Fibre Fashion Awards is always very competitive.
“This gives our students a great challenge to work towards, being creative and designing fashion garments while working with natural fibres”, Deidre said.
“Having The Natural Fibre Fashion Awards right here in our region is also a great opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work at a national level.”
“I’m very proud of the students and what they have designed this year.
“They’ve completed items for their collections to a very high standard and have worked hard to include intricate details within a range of well finished garments.”
As in previous years, students from both the Certificate III in Clothing and Textile Production and the Certificate IV in Clothing Production courses submitted their original creations into the Awards.
Wodonga TAFE is the only TAFE provider to offer these courses outside the metropolitan areas, with applications again open for 2023 enrolments in both qualifications.
