Welcoming signage and picnic tables win accolades for Elders

Rob Martin was thrilled to win a prestigious Exhibitor Award at the 2025 Henty Machinery Field Days after 17 years of meticulous planning at the Elders Albury site.

Located on a prominent corner in Block F, the Elders site featured a large open marquee with bar tables and seating, picnic seating throughout the outdoor areas, displays of cattle yards, crushes and hay feeders plus entrance arches with welcome signage.

As the sales logistics and freight manager, Rob Martin has organised the site and supplier layout at Henty for the Albury branch for the past 17 years and was excited to accept the Best Outdoor General Exhibitor Award. 

He said visitors had been interested in the range of cattle veterinary crushes on display and the Gallagher livestock equipment.

The uptick in the cattle market had resulted in strong demand from producers wanting to update their livestock handling equipment. 

Mr Martin said the site involves up to seven staff per day including those from Wagga and West Wyalong branches. 

“A lot of us are office based like me in the warehouse so it’s good to be able to get out and meet the clients. It’s long days but quite enjoyable for all of us to spend time outside,” he said. 

“We placed the picnic tables to encourage people to sit down so our staff can engage with them – it makes the site quite welcoming. We want everyone to come and say hello.

“We have a big open style marquee with bar tables and chairs – hard flooring went in a few years ago and the marquee was enlarged. The floor makes it so much easier to keep clean and look tidier.”

Three years ago, Elders Albury introduced their own branded Henty caps, which have proven popular with field day visitors with 700 each year given away on site.
