Yanco drummers to entertain field day visitors at Henty
Field day visitors will be entertained by the Yanco Agricultural High School Drums at The Stump on Wednesday, September 18 at 12.30pm.
The YAHS Drums is an integral part of the history and tradition of the school and has won many awards for their performances.
Consisting of students ranging from Years 8 to 12, the band has undergone changes in both structure and style over the last two years.
Expanding upon just the snare drum, YAHS Drums has incorporated further percussive instruments and drums such as cymbals and tenor and bass drums.
Their performances and repertoire now demonstrate inspiration from drumlines in the USA in addition to the corps style playing of the past.
The band has had a busy 2024 of performances with multiple local school events, representation in the local Anzac Day Service, KROP in Griffith and competing in both the Leeton Eisteddfod and the Australian Drumline Competition.
YAHS Drums now look forward to entertaining guests at the Henty Machinery Field Days.
