Using colour, site layout and a friendly smile to engage with customers at Henty
When it comes to site layout and execution at a major event, CF Moto Australia have proven they have the goods by winning the Best Outdoor General Exhibitor Award at the Henty Machinery Field Days.
CF Moto Australia impressed the judges with the large range of all-terrain, utility and sports side by side vehicles, colourful tents, flags and signage, metal stands with vehicle specifications and friendly staff on the well laid out site.
CF Moto Australia area sales manager Lance Whitelock said the team had spent six weeks planning their site to have all the vehicles, equipment and point of sale material coordinated.
“To engage with customers, we aim to have machinery on site that is attractive, of a good colour and appealing. The machines are presented with open doors, and we start them occasionally to encourage the customer to have a closer look,” Mr Whitelock said.
He said staff engaged with browsing customers by asking about their interests and needs to find a machine suitable for their requirements.
Mr Whitelock regards Henty Machinery Field Days as his favourite field day for its size and location.
“The event is run very well and is handy to other towns and locations with a good variety of people attending from as far as Yass, Griffith, Corryong and down into Victoria to Shepparton,” he said.
“We were exceptionally busy this year, particularly on the Wednesday with five staff on the site talking to people.
“We do sell product off the site but a lot of it is about building confidence so we will reap the benefits of this event with customers coming into our dealerships for the next six months.”
Mr Whitelock said seasonal conditions had been challenging for the industry with many customers waiting on the results of the coming harvest.
“A lot of the machinery here is a necessity so farmers and we are not high dollar vehicles, so we do get some sales direct from the site,” he said.
“Our base 2-seater model UTV suitable for the average farmer is by far the most popular – it is not too big and is easy to get around in with a good price point. There are some features farmers always look for like power steering, a windscreen and bumpers for protection.
“The high-end models are fully enclosed with air conditioning, electric windows, heaters, electric tilt-up glass windscreen, and rear glass windshield with trucker slide window.”
