Pure hand-crafted artisan excellence from New Zealand at Henty
Visitors to the Farm Gate Produce Area will be given a taste of New Zealand’s small batch artisan food community with a range of olive and truffle products.
Kiwi Artisan began life as a simple market stall in Central Otago supporting local producers and came to fruition off the back of the Covid pandemic.
Like most small retail operations, the business struggled to survive during lockdown and was particularly affected as local markets and events were cancelled across the country.
Without a strong online presence, the operations came to a standstill, but the owners pressed on to launch Kiwi Artisan online to support the small batch artisan community and broaden artisan platter options for those loving to entertain at home.
Kiwi Artisan now produces in-house high-quality locally made goods to continuously foster the talented artisan presence in New Zealand.
The Kiwi Artisan Co sales manager Louis Nieuwenhuijsen will be bringing the full artisan range to Henty Machinery Field Days with all products being gluten free and crafted by hand from natural ingredients.
The range includes the truffle oil infused olives, Manuka wood smoked olives, spicy Sichuan chilli olives, black truffle seasoning, Manuka smoked flaky chilli salt, black truffle sea salt, and lemon myrtle, Tulsi basil and kawakawa green olives.
“We began bringing product to Australia in 2022, attending the large events like the Sydney Royal Easter Show as well as being stocked in a number of retail stores and offering online ordering,” Louis said.
“We have found Australians love our products as much as the Kiwis do. We are now supporting Australian producers as well and have taken on board products from Australian artisans.
“At Henty we will have all our olive range, including the Anzac olive which features the native healing herbs of Australian lemon myrtle and the New Zealand Kawakawa.
“Popular is our pure New Zealand extra virgin olive oil infused with black truffles from the Bay of Plenty in the North Island, along with our versatile truffle seasoning which can be added to sauces and sprinkled onto meats.
“We are looking forward to meeting field day visitors at Henty and showing them how they can use our products.”
