All the taste sensations to make the trek to Henty from Long Track Pantry

Thriving produce store and café, the Long Track Pantry, at Jugiong, is bringing its famous award-winning preserves, jams, chutneys, relish and marmalade to the Farm Gate Produce Area. 

It will be the first time the business has exhibited at Henty, thanks to the enthusiasm of the Long Track Pantry team who are keen field day visitors.

Café manager Sharni Manton said the Pantry’s range of 36 preserves and condiments are handmade in-house from Australian ingredients.

“We are very excited to be at Henty this year and will be bringing our top 10 to 12 products for visitors to sample and purchase. We will also be barbecuing chipolatas sausage from the Cootamundra Butchery and serving them with our Spicy BBQ sauce and tomato relish,” Ms Manton said. 

Located one minute from the Hume Highway between Gundagai and Yass, the Long Track Pantry was established in 2006 by Huw and Juliet Robb in the old Jugiong General Store with a mission to build community through sharing food. 

The store is jam packed full of handmade relishes, preserves, jam, chutney and marmalade.

Open for breakfast and lunch from 8am-4pm (closed Tuesdays), Long Track Pantry visitors can enjoy a delicious range of sandwiches and salads based on fresh local, seasonal produce from the daily blackboard menu, great coffee and browse a variety of homewares, clothing, kitchen items and accessories. 

The café also provides home-made frozen main meals and desserts and shares seasonal recipes online and in-store. 

“Part of our mission is to build community through sharing food, whether we make it for you or give you the recipes for free. Juliet is the expert behind those recipes, and we share one every fortnight through our online newsletter along with 16 free recipe gift cards available in store,” Ms Manton said. 

Long Track Pantry won silver and bronze medals at the 2023 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show for its blood orange and gin marmalade, salad dressing, red pepper chilli jam, tomato relish, tomato chutney and beetroot relish. 

The business stocks and supports local suppliers such as Poachers Pantry with their nitrate free smoked bacon, Wagga Wagga’s Pota Pasta which produces pasta hand made from Australian grown semolina, Knights Deli in Wagga, and Holbrook Paddock Eggs.

Visitors can experience around 28 products made by the Long Track Pantry at the Jam Factory tasting room a five-minute walk from the café.

There is an extensive range of award-winning chutneys, relish, cordial, pate, granola, marmalade, jam, olives, honey, muesli, barbecue sauce and coffee. There is a small range of sweet treats to take away or enjoy the tasting room, including a gluten free chocolate brownie mix in a jar. Popular is the handmade toasted muesli using local, organic rolled oats, locally produced canola oil, country honey and Australian dried fruit. 

The Lickety Splits Gelato Bar is located next door to the Long Track Pantry café courtyard and features 26 flavours from old favourites like mango, vanilla bean and honeycomb crunch to new sensations of boysenberry cheesecake, salted pistachio, peanut butter fudge and pavlova.
