Scania is bringing the world’s safest and most fuel-efficient range of trucks to the Henty Machinery Field Days in 2019.
The New Truck Generation Scanias have launched in Australia to the same huge success as in every market around the world.
They are acclaimed for their fine driver accommodation, comfort and convenience as much as for their exceptional fuel efficiency, low emissions, high torque/low rev engines and world-leading active and passive safety systems.
Chief among the safety innovations is the world’s first side curtain rollover airbags designed to protect driver and passenger in the event of a rollover, traditionally one of the most lethal accidents for truckers.
The NTG range, which includes the only V8 truck engine range still available in Australia, continues to deliver more torque at lower revs than its rivals, giving exceptional driveability, while even sleeker, wind-tunnel honed lines, more precise body panel fit and more premium cabin fittings mark the NTG as the best truck in the world.
The range starts with a 7.0-litre engine powering the urban and vocational duty P-series and rises through 9.0-litre and 13-litre workhorses (for P- and G-series cabs) to the 16.4-litre V8 engines.
These are available in the R- and S-series cabs, with up to 730 hp and 3500 Nm (2581 lb/ft) of torque, making this truck the undisputed “King of the Road” in Australia.
Field day patrons can visit Scania at Block S, site number 924-925 and see the R-series V8 and G 500 six-cylinder trucks for themselves.
