CBC sheltering horses, humans and motor homes

Daniel Cronin will have a range of shade shelters for agricultural, recreational and household use at his CBC Shade Sheds site at Henty.

A shade cover for the sheep yards, a shade stable, AdBlue storage shed or waste oil storage unit can all be found at the CBC Shade Sheds site at Henty.

Daniel and Corrin Cronin, of Cronin Building and Construction in Wagga, took on the distribution agency for Transportable Shade Sheds in 2017, and can provide a complete range of agricultural, industrial, recreational and household shade shelters.

Trading as CBC Shade Sheds, this will be the second year the couple have exhibited at Henty and on display will be a double shade shed, shade stable and a shade tree.

A second-generation builder, Daniel specialises in new home construction, townhouses, units, renovation, extensions, shop fit outs and commercial projects.

Mr Cronin said the Transportable Shade Sheds product range had great synergies with his own building business.

The range includes skillion shade, retractable awnings, truck and tractor covers, compliant storage, shade trees, car cover, site office and animal shelters.

CBC Shade Sheds now service a region bounded by Adelong, Young, West Wyalong, Oaklands, Wahgunyah and Talmalmo.

One of the most popular products in the Riverina has proven to be the shade stable for horses, and the versatile shade shed.

“The shade stables fold up to a six foot long box and are so compact and easy to transport,’’ Mr Cronin said.

“There is no need for foundations with these sheds – patented and engineered spikes are used to anchor the sheds to the ground for semi-permanent installation.

“Six to eight hold down pegs can maintain the standard wind rating for most areas around Australia.’’

Hold down options for more permanent structures include saddle plates, which are dyna bolted to a concrete slab, and a concrete pier kit where footings are concreted into a 450mm by 600mm deep hole.

Every shade shed is designed with a 75mm overhanging roof, allowing a guttering kit to be attached.

The kit structures come with certified plans and certificates, roofing and frame screws, slip fit connections, and 10-year structural warranty.

Colorbond or Zinc roofing is available and the kits can be either DIY or professionally installed.

“With the single shade shed, the height goes up to 4.6m making them ideal for goosenecks or motorhomes,’’ Mr Cronin said.

“The single shade sheds are either 3.17 or 4.67m wide, while the popular double is 6.17m wide and larger industrial versions are 9 or 12m wide by 6.2m high.

“We can engineer farm sheds or large shade domes to be installed on shipping containers to add 4.5m to the height for protecting heavy machinery and equipment.’’

For the househoulder, there is the rectractable awning in the colours of stone and slate, and up to 3m wide, for weather protection on patios.

“These are also ideal for fitting to horse floats, caravans, motor homes and four wheel drive vehicles,’’ Mr Cronin said.

“Business owners will love the six-branch shade trees in white or green – they have a span of 5.5m and are perfect for outdoor areas at cafés, restaurants, motels, hotels and resorts.’’

Farm owners will appreciate the flammable liquid, fuel, battery acid or waste oil storage units.

“The AdBlue shed has a small bowser and a fuel tank inside, with a roller door on the front,’’ Mr Cronin said.

“Environmentally friendly toilet blocks are fully biodegradable using a composting system, and are ideal for shearing sheds, machinery sheds and farm office sites.’’

There are also shade structures for the race and weigh crate areas in sheep and cattle yards.

“Ninety per cent of our products are flat pack with the exception of the dangerous goods products which are fully built and transported to the site,’’ Mr Cronin said.

“The semi-permanent structures are deemed fully transportable and do not require council approval.

“Adjustable legs allow the shade structures to be installed on uneven ground.’’
