The wheat varieties were direct drilled by Kalyx Australia into a moist, friable seedbed at the Henty Machinery Field Days agronomy site on May 18.
The stubble cover had been burnt and the seed was sown at 180 plants per square metre, at a depth of 2-3cm and on a 23cm row spacing.
The wheat was sown with MAP and Impact at 80kg/ha, urea at 80kg/ha below the seed and treated with Sakura at 118g/ha and Roundup UltraMax at 1.5 litre/ha.
