Burrumbuttock Hay Runners are set to benefit from the auction of a 130,000 litre Pioneer GT130 water tank at the Henty Machinery Field Days.
Craig Tenteye, Pioneer Water Tanks, Albury, is hoping to raise at least $10,000 via the auction to support much needed hay to be trucked to farmers across Australia.
A guest auctioneer from Landmark Wagga will take bids on the tank at noon on Wednesday, September 19 at the Pioneer Water Tanks site (787 Block Q).
Pioneer Water Tanks builds hundreds of tanks each year across Australia’s vast outback.
Pioneer’s Rick Hand grew up in Bourke and has worked across western NSW for most of his life.
“I know times can get tough when it’s dry. It’s a privilege to be able to help out our mates, the farmers, if only in a small way,’’ Mr Hand said.
“You turn up at the front gate and you know they’re doing it tough.
“But they’ll give you a feed and always have a smile on their face.
“That’s why we are doing what we’re doing.’’
