New national digital health record overview at Henty

By the end of this year, all Australians will have a My Health Record, a national digital health record created for them unless they choose not to.

My Health Record is an online summary of an individual’s key health information.

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network will present information on My Health Record during the Country Lifestyle program, titled “Your Health in Your Hands – an overview of the national My Health Record system’’.

Over time, My Health Record will bring together health information such as medical conditions, medicines, allergies and test results in one place, resulting in safer, more efficient care for individuals and families.

It is an individual’s choice on who sees My Health Record and what is in it. There are also safeguards in place including a secure login, firewalls and encryption to protect the information.

People who don’t want a My Health Record created can opt out online or over the phone during the three month opt-out period between July 16 and October 15, 2018.

Visit the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network’s Digital Health team in the Country Lifestyle pavilion to learn more about My Health Record.

For those who cannot visit in person, more information about My Health Record is available online at www.MyHealthRecord.gov.au or call 1800 723 471.
