International circus star Marcela Scheuner is back to dazzle field day visitors with her hoop and juggling routine in a roving street performance.
Marcela is a dynamic young circus professional with more than 14 years experience.
The 23-year-old grew up in Henty and considers performing at the field days an honour.
She is a graduate of Australia’s leading youth circus, the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, and has toured and performed at many shows, including seasons at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s comedy theatre.
While training with the Fruities, Marcela built her independent career through many corporate gigs all over NSW and Victoria, as well as working with Kindred Circus to deliver performances and workshops to remote indigenous areas.
In 2015, she was chosen to participate in Circus Oz’s Strong Women Project, collaborating with artists from around Australia.
Since then, Marcela has been a full-time circus artist splitting her time between performing, coaching and creative developments.
She is based in Adelaide at the South Australian Circus Centre as coach and is a founding member of the new company “Outside the Lines Circus’’, which debuted with the show ATTIC at the Adelaide fringe in 2017, winning the best emerging artist award in 2018.
As a cast member of the show Cirque Nocturne, Marcela was invited to San Diego Fringe in June this year.
Most recently, she was the co-founder and creator of the show BOSS squad.
In BOSS squad, two companies join forces to create one epic all-female, inspirational, powerful, high intensity acrobatic production.
BOSS squad is set to debut their new show at Circus Oz’s Sidesault Festival in October, before leaving for the festival circuit to Perth, Sydney and Adelaide in 2019.
Marcela will be appearing each day at the field days in roving street performances around the site, including the Farm Gate and Country Lifestyle stages.
