A drone with an onboard auto pilot and a suite of payload options is an entry in the Henty Machine of the Year Award.
Entered by Bask Aerospace, the AeroDrone MR4 boasts a payload capacity of over 2.5kg and a flight time of up to 40 minutes.
Bask Aerospace managing director David Skinner said the broad new set of features made the AeroDrone MR4 a highly capable aerial platform for farming applications.
Built with reliability and ease of use in mind, the AeroDrone MR4 has been redesigned from the ground up.
It has the ability to fold away for easy storage and transport.
The custom designed rugged transport case keeps the system safe in tough conditions.
An onboard autopilot allows the operator to fly and use the system with minimal training and practice.
“PowerClip, our new battery connector, allows the operator to change batteries safey, easily and within seconds,’’ Mr Skinner said.
“The all new payload twist-lock clip also makes field-swapping payloads simple and without the need for tools.
“The suite of payload options have also been extended and tailored towards agriculture.
“We now have RGB, NDVI and multi-spectral mapping payloads for use in crop health analysis, yield mapping and stock pile estimation, plus a bird control payload under trial in apple and almond orchards.’’
