New varieties and seed treatments from Baker Seed Co
Advice on new varieties, farming practices and technologies will be available at Henty at the Baker Seed Co site.
The North East Victorian company has been producing and processing seed for four generations and was established in 1969 on the back of sub clover production.
Founder Geoff Baker designed and built the first processing plant in 1972, revamping the “Old Paroo’’ winery into a seed cleaning plant.
Since then Baker Seed Co has invested heavily in infrastructure, making the Rutherglen site one of the most modern and capable seed facilities in Australia.
Baker Seed Co sales and business development manager Aaron Giason said a comprehensive range of seed and processed grains are provided to a wide variety of industries.
Mt Giason said Baker Seed Co had a long-standing tradition of providing sound advice to growers regarding new varieties, farming practices and technologies.

Mr Giason said Baker Seed Co was pleased to partner with the Henty Machinery Field Days to offer growers the opportunity to explore the professionally presented demonstration site.
“This site is aimed to showcase some of the newest varieties while accessing advice from Baker Seed Co representatives, plant breeders and other seed representatives,’’ he said.
“The field days site is central to our distribution area and is a great opportunity for Baker Seed Co to introduce growers, advisers and agronomists to a wide range of varieties, products and services we offer.’’
