Mr Heath, senior wine maker at Cofield Wines, will speak on wine styles and matching food with wine on Tuesday, September 22 at 11am.
He is a graduate of the winemaking and vineyard management course at Charles Sturt University, and has worked in the wine industry for more than 25 years.
Mr Heath started his working life with Campbells Wines in Rutherglen, gaining valuable experience in table and fortified winemaking under wine maker Colin Campbell for 15 years.
He went on to work for the late Chris Killeen at Stanton & Killeen, before taking over as head winemaker after Mr Killeen’s death in 2007.
Mr Heath joined Cofield Wines in 2014 as senior wine maker and expanding into sparkling wines under vignerons Max and Damien Cofield.
Brendan estimates he has worked with over 65 grape varieties as well as alternate and emerging blends and wine styles.
He achieved a first for the Rutherglen Wine Region in 2008 when he accepted the position of judging at the International Wine Challenge in London.
Boasting more than 9000 entries, the challenge is regarded as the biggest and best wine blind tasting in the world.
In 2011, Mr Heath was promoted to a panel chair position and now travels to London and Europe twice a year for judging, consulting, educating and mentoring.
He is also guest educator for Charles Sturt and Melbourne University wine courses, advising on vineyard management, winery design and wine businesses in Australia.
